Tess Middlebrook began pursuing comedy and cooking in New York City in her early 20's, and has continued doing so since. She currently exercises her inner writing alien by developing scripted shows with her friends and posting characters on her instagram account @tessmiddlebrook. Tess has live shows weekly at UCB or (insert literally any club in LA) with her improv teams, "The S.S. Moorebrook", "Invasion of Privacy" and "Atlantis Morrison". Not recently but not too long ago, Tess's Web-Series, Hillbrook Gardens was named official selection by the LA Webfest 2016 & Tess received a nomination for Best Actress in a comedy. Watch the official trailer below or go to the website, Hillbrook Gardens to watch full episodes. Woot Woot!
A chef by trade, you can see Tess on Good Mythical Morning a show where she prepares the hosts incredibly disgusting food and then they in turn, try not to throw up on members of their crew. Yes, it is a gag show. Blech. Luckily, Tess was not puked on while working on the show, but that doesn't mean she didn't throw up herself, yes, that happened, sadly, more than once. When Tess isn't throwing up on camera she's often cooking in comepetition shows. Which basically equates to, "I'm really good at having food fights while nervous". And, scene. You can catch Tess on Season 10 of The Food Networks Hit Series "CHOPPED", and on Good Mythical Morning's Food Flip. Interested in learning to cook actually delicious meals and not stuff that makes people ralph? Go to Cozymeal for a list of classes taught by Tess in Los Angeles. Come to her home, she'll teach you a thing or two and we'll have alcohol together.
Currently, Tess is collaborating with several media outlets trying to sell a show, if you're interested in cooking and comedy and think it's the next frontier along with her and her hero, Amy Sedaris; please don't hesitate to contact her. In other news, Tess is also a Food Producer, please check out the chef tab to see some of the rad stuff she did for Good Mythical Morning.
Tess has a BA in Theater from Hunter College. She's trained at Stella Adler, The UCB Theater, The Groundlings Theater and through private coaches such as Sybil Lines (Royal Shakespeare Company), Rebecca Drysdale (writer, Key & Peele), Guy Stevenson (writer, Mad TV) and Karen Maruyama (Actor, Whose Line is it Anyway?) Tess feels pretty weird talking about herself in the third person so bye for now. Have a Nice Day!
